Naveen Patnaik was rated the Second-best Chief Minister of India by the NDTV Opinion Poll in 2010. He was listed as the Most Popular Chief Minister of India by the India Today-ORG-Marg Mood of the Nation Poll in 2010. He was also honored by the United Nations (UN) for evacuating nearly a million people ahead of tropical storm Cyclone Phailin, which hit coastal Odisha in October 2013.
Patnaik was ranked the Second Best Performing Chief Minister by NDTV Opinion Poll. He also bagged the Best Administrator Award by Outlook in 2017. He was also bestowed with the Ideal Chief Minister award from former President Pratibha Patil during the eighth Indian Students' Parliament at Pune in January 2018.
